Children’s Cancer Awareness

Hi, I’m Dave.

I’m a fingerboarder and a father. I found the hobby of fingerboarding a few years ago after a return from my younger years as a tech decker. This community has shown me nothing but love and respect, and I wanted to find a way to share that love and respect back. Children are the essential part to the continuation of ANYTHING, let alone a hobby as fun and as pure as fingerboarding. We all as fingerboarders are truly children at heart.

My wife painted the picture… imagine a young child in the hospital post chemo, with barely the energy to move. And the only thing they’ve got keeping them entertained and holding on to hope of anything. A better day. A warm meal. Time home with the family. Any of it. That tiny glimmer of hope that they’re holding onto is through one of these tiny skateboards.

That’s what fingerboarding is and this community is to me. It gets dark out there and everyone in this community is going through something. The daily grind. A poor relationship. Something is chewing at all of us every day on the regular and all we can do is be strong and keep fighting.

This hobby has done that much for all of us and that’s why we still stick with it. Not for the toys. For the friends. The homies. The support. The love.

I want to put all that in one emotional bank and use it to save the next generation of shredders because no child deserves that.

Maybe our kickflips can save a life.
